up to the Massachusetts Scrabble® Clubs

Danvers, MA Scrabble® Group

This group started out meeting in Beverly, MA, but it now meets on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at the Danvers Library. The group meets in the Children's Room located on the bottom floor. The library is named the Peabody Institute Library, but it is the town's library. It is located at 15 Sylvan St., and the library phone number is 978-774-0554.

This group is not a sanctioned club associated with the National Scrabble Association, but it does use the NSA Official Word List (OWL2). It is a low-key group - just playing to have fun with the game (in contrast to some of the more serious competitive clubs in the Boston area). Timers are used but not required. Newer players have the option of using cheat sheets.

As of the summer of 2006, there are usually between 6 and 12 players. If there is interest, there may be a Thursday evening session added.

For more info, you can phone active player Barbara Mahoney, whose home phone is 978-762-9510.
