Nashua, NH Badminton Club

This club meets year-round up to four times each week at the Nashua YMCA (603-882-2011) at 17 Prospect St. in Nashua, NH:

-	Monday:	7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
-	Thursday:	8:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
-	Saturday:	4:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
-	Sunday:	11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or later

Although there are the above four time periods available for play, only Mondays are definite times, and Saturdays are working out during the winter months. Players tend to communicate by e-mail to be sure there are enough interested players to participate on the other three days. This communication is done via membership in a Google Groups group: http://groups.google.com/group/badminton-nh

The per-visit fee is $10 for a non-member of the YMCA, except a first visit is free. Members are free. The membership fee for one adult is $33 per month (as of Jan-08), and there is also a one-time $100 joining fee. There are lower prices for seniors.

This club cannot accommodate a large attendance. The gym at this facility has a dividing wall such that there are two separate smaller gyms; each one now has one badminton court. There is the potential to have three courts when the wall is opened, but different court lines would need to be set up. For most of the Monday sessions, both gyms are used for badminton. Usually, only one gym is used on Saturdays. Although both gyms are available on Sundays, badminton attendance on Sundays has usually been low enough that only one gym is used. Players are expected to bring feathered birds and drop one in a communal pile upon arrival. Thus far, attendance is mostly by mid-level players.
